What kind of kid were you when it was back to school time? Did you dress up? Did you dress for comfort? Did you not care at all?

When I was in school, the first day back was the day I dressed to impress. I remember wearing some great bell bottoms, my mom’s boots from the 70’s and a pleather jacket my senior year at a new school, having just moved from California to Ohio. I had a statement to make!
My Ageless Style friends and I are styling some back to school looks this month, with some of us reminiscing and some of us dressing for the back to school season we’re in now. Be sure to head on over and see what they wore!

As for myself, I sure wish I still had those 70’s boots but I styled a transitional look using summer pieces with fall accessories instead.
First, my summer look. I’ve been really loving cropped tops paired with high waisted bottoms. This fun denim on denim outfit made me feel cute! We all know that’s what’s most important! I added tassel earrings and a boho bag and kept my sandals neutral.

To transition to fall, I added a long cardigan in fall colors, and neutral crossbody and flats. (This might look even cuter with white skinny jeans but it’s still.so.hot. over here I just couldn’t do it!)

This is a Back to School outfit I’m definitely going to wear as we start school September 1st! We homeschool so I’m the teacher, but since we homeschool I make the dress code! Whoop!

Ohhh, I used to dress to impress on the first day of school too. That day set the tone for the rest of the year. LOL
Love your outfit. I’ve been looking at a couple of crop tops but never thought to pair them with high waist jeans. Love the idea.
