How to Wear Denim on Denim #ootd

This is one style I’ve always wanted to try but never could get the hang of. But when the Fourth of July came around, I knew it was a great time to do it! What’s more American than jeans?!

Tank: Old Navy (old)// Jean Jacket: Levi Strauss (old)// Crop Flares: American Eagle (Similar)// Converse Ballet Flats: Nordstrom Rack (Similar)// Straw bag: Amazon

I decided Bob Dylan and I were a good match for the day, especially since I’ve had this tank in my closet for awhile but I rarely wear it! No idea why, because I LOVE Dylan.

Also, can we just talk about crop flares? I know they were a big deal last year and I’m not even sure if they’re still a thing for this year. But these are probably one of the most comfortable jeans I own. I love love love wearing skinny jeans, but sometimes I need a break and these are perfect. Plus, the flares keep the air flowing during these hot summer days. Like I said, it’s LOVE.

Would you wear denim on denim? Ever since Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, I thought it was a big no-no! But here is some pinterest inspiration that helped change my mind!

I’m not an expert, by any means, but one rule I’ve been able to determine is that you should NOT be matchy-matchy with your denim. Mix different weights, different washes, different distressing, different colors, and cuts. There are some exceptions, but I’m thinking that would be for the experts.

So tell me, would you wear denim on denim? Hit me up in the comments!

  1. I personally don’t prefer the same color denum together. There are rare occasions I might wear different weight/color denim together but your look is cute
