5 Ways to Wear Leopard for Petites

I love a good leopard print, but being a petite size makes it tricky to wear it without getting overwhelmed. So far, I haven’t found that unicorn top that I absolutely love to wear in leopard. (Cardigans, yes! Blouses and tees, no!) But here are four ways I like to wear leopard that fit my petite frame just fine!

A Little Pop of Leopard

Leopard Scarf

This outfit follows a simple formula of jeans + sweater + booties but the thing that really makes it pop is the addition of a leopard scarf. This one is from last year, but they brought it out again, by BP and available at Nordstrom for 25$!

Leopard Mules

Like the first outfit, this one is all solid colors with a pop of leopard. These mules are from Amazon and they go with just about everything. The faux leather leggings really help add the pizzaz, too!

Pattern Mixing with a Leopard scarf

Leopard Scarf

This outfit does a little pattern mixing with leopard and camo. It works because both are neutrals, the pattern sizes are varied, and they both go with black (and are separated by it) which is the basis of this outfit. I like to add a pop of color to give even more interest. (Same scarf as above, worn a different way!)

Leopard Leggings

With petites, all over patterns are tricky because it’s easy to overwhelm our short frames. Because of this, I like to keep big swaths of pattern on the bottom half, paired with a solid top. Plus, the fringe top is just fun!

These two pics show my favorite way to wear leopard. I love a good leopard skirt, and the all over pattern is toned down by the solid neutral tee and jean jacket.

Long Cardigan

Leopard Cardigan (option)

Long cardis can be tricky on a petite. I don’t personally care for the waist length ones, so I always look for long cardigans that fall somewhere between my hips and knees. Any longer, and it’s a robe on me! This one is about as long as I’d go with a leopard print or else it’d be too overwhelming on my frame, especially since it’s a larger sized pattern!

Wearing prints for as a petite is tricky business, but don’t give up! Through trial and error you will find outfit combinations that you love, too!
