Weekend Wrap-Up

Weekend Wrap-Up

So, hey! It’s been awhile! I thought I’d hop on here and tell you a little about what’s been going on over here!

I’ve really been trying to take better care of myself! I talked earlier about getting a treadmill and trying to do some running HERE. Well, I literally ran the treadmill into the ground. Like, broke the engine. ha! I still believe it was a good purchase for me though, because I wasn’t sure if I would even USE it. I mean, everyone has that one thing in their house that usually only holds laundry. (We had a bow-flex, so I have experience in this area!) Plus, it was pink! I ended up using it quite a bit, and now I know for sure that running is my jam. Can you guess what’s on my after Christmas Sale list?
See the treadmill in question, below:

Another way I’ve been trying to take care of myself is by taking Neighborhood Barre classes. I’ve been sort of interested in taking these classes for a couple years now, but never gave it a try until late this summer. (Mostly because I’ve NEVER been that girl that takes fitness classes)  I gotta be honest; I felt like I was gonna die when I started. But now I feel strong, and going to class makes me feel AMAZING! Not an exaggeration! If you follow me on INSTAGRAM, you’ll probably have noticed my annoying barre updates in my stories. ha! Sorry about that, but I’m awfully proud of myself!

All of this to say, I’ve somehow managed to drop 20 pounds and keep it off! I’m actually pretty shocked, myself! Here is a before and after photo. I guess you can’t see too much of a difference, but I feel SO much better!

On the homeschool front, we are now entering our last week of school for this year! The kids and I are so excited! I can’t wait to really dig into the holidays and make some fun memories with the kids. Over the course of this year, we’ve transitioned to mainly using the Thinking Tree for all our schoolwork. I’ve written about them quite a bit! See the posts HERE. I am planning on talking about our homeschool a lot more in the new year and will talk more about what we are using very soon.

Today, it snowed for the second time this week (well, the first time was really a flurry, but you can’t tell the kids anything)! Today, it actually accumulated and the kids had some great fun outside. So, guess what’s on their Christmas wishlist now?

Speaking of Christmas wish lists, you’re going to think I’m crazy because of what’s on mine. I was watching cartoons with the kids when a commercial for Playmobil GHOSTBUSTERS came on! Now, do you think Santa would look down on me buying it for the kids when it’s really for me? I’m dead serious. I remember loving the movies when I was a kid. How awesome would it be to have the Ecto 1? I’m totally geeking out!

By the way, if you’re already looking for a new planner for 2019, this planner has been the best. I have used many, many over the last few years, and this one has just enough organization to meet my needs as a crazy busy mom of 5, but it’s not too big like some of the other planners I’ve used in the past. My mom actually got one first, and once she showed it to me I knew I had to try it. I have the gold one!

Well, that’s it for today! I hope you have an incredible week and a very Merry Christmas!

~Jamie
