365 Day Happiness Challenge: Plant a Garden

IMG_9320

Hey there! Just popping in with another Happiness Challenge Update! Did you make a New Year’s Resolution? I did not because I already knew that I wouldn’t keep it. Isn’t that terrible? Ha! But I saw this 365 Day Happiness Challenge on PopSugar and felt it was right down my alley. Knowing I wouldn’t be able to do it every day, I thought that would give me some great options for choosing what I wanted to do. So far, it’s been very fun and MUCH better than my experiences with New Year’s Resolutions!

You can read more about how this challenge has been going:

So, on day 50, the suggestion is to plant a garden. But with it being winter, I decided to start up my herb garden again instead.

This thing is amazing! The lights are on a timer and I almost don’t have to do ANYTHING once the pods are “planted.” Every now and then, the indicator tells me I need to add more water or nutrients, and that’s IT.

You can probably guess that we got it on Amazon. It was a Christmas present the year before last from my husband and we LOVE it! You can get yours:

There are lots of different plants you can grow, depending on the size of the machine you chose:

But I can’t wait until these are ready to harvest, because I have a SUPER AWESOME recipe that my family loves that’s made with the fresh Basil. Mario Batali made it on The Chew and I’ve been hooked ever since! Spaghetti with Fresh Tomatoes

Doesn’t that look good?? It’s quick, uses fresh ingredients, and my husband hums as he eats it! I call that a win/win!

What have you been doing lately that makes you happy? Remember to take a little time for yourself, even if it’s just in little snippets!

Peace, Love, and Happiness,

~Jamie
