Instead of a New Year’s Resolution, I chose to take on the 365 Day Happiness challenge that I found on Pinterest by PopSugar!
Week one:
- Day 1: Wear your favorite things.
- Day 2: Sign up for a free exercise class.
- Day 3: Rearrange your furniture.
Day 4: Start a gratitude journal.- Day 5: Bake a cake.
- Day 6: Have a sleepover.
- Day 7: Watch a funny YouTube video.
I’m not very good at keeping resolutions, but I figured that I would try and hit this challenge about three times a week! That way, there would be plenty to choose from and I could skip the ones that I didn’t want to do. Read here about my Day One!
Today, I’ve decided to rearrange my furniture which is easy since I just moved and nothing is put in place yet! Just take a look at this place!
The previous owner gave us this hutch! I’ve always wanted one to display my doll collection, but I’m not sure where I want to put it. In the living room where she had it, or in the formal dining room?
Which is full of empty boxes at the moment. I also have a painting hubs got me for Christmas and if the hutch doesn’t go in here, I think the painting could. Hm…decisions, decisions!
I’m thinking this one may take a couple days to complete! ha!
But what I WAS able to complete in one day was to organize the laundry room! Take a look!
I bought the laundry sorters on amazon! Links to the laundry sorters I got are HERE
My husband bought me THE MOST BEAUTIFUL paintings for Christmas: a copy of Starry Night by Van Gogh, one of my favorite artists!
Side Note: I have a “process” when I get a new item. For some reason, I just can’t use the new item right away. So when I got these for Christmas they sat by my bed until now. My husband said it was killing him not to put them up but he finally understood that this was my process!
So, we finally mounted them above the fireplace! Isn’t this just beautiful??! I ADORE it.
We also got a new microwave to mount over the stove! The house didn’t come with one, so we had to rough it for a few days with an old college microwave.
My oldest son also got in on the action and set up his bookshelf and dresser in his new room.
So while not much furniture got moved in the places where it really needs it, we did put some things in order and it felt good to start to sort the house out. I’m so glad I am doing this challenge!

Congrats on the new house and on getting so much done! It is hard to decide where to put things sometimes and I love that ‘Starry Night’ picture… gorgeous!
