Did you hear? Pantone chose the color Ultra Violet for 2018. I think I love it and I simply CANNOT wait to style it! Butter London has a line of makeup in this year’s colors and I did a review of a few of them HERE.
Today, I want to show you two easy ways to wear Ultra Violet. I know this color will be difficult for some to wrap their heads around, but there are ways to wear it so you don’t feel ridiculous in a color you’re not comfortable with.
My first styling tip for Ultra Violet is to make it your pop of color. Begin with an all neutral outfit and add in a pop of Ultra Violet with your accessories. (Think scarf, necklace, earrings, purse, shoes.) So your main outfit won’t be flaming purple.
I created this outfit on Polyvore:
As you can see, my neutral palette is grey and white. But I ADORE purple with grey. They seem to compliment each other so well. And adding a pop on top and a pop on bottom kind of ties the whole outfit together.
However, if Ultra Violet is one of your colors, why not go bold with it? This next outfit is still based on the pop of color idea, but the pop is much more in your face. I started with a neutral palette of black and leopard. Doesn’t the purple just make the outfit?
Aren’t those super cute outfits?? Stay tuned for more ways to style Pantone’s color of the year: Ultra Violet!
