3 New Pinterest Recipes I Tried That Worked!

I’ve been in a bit of a cooking slump lately. My kitchen has been a wreck, and I’ve just generally been uninspired. But then Thanksgiving came, and all I could think about was how I didn’t want to make the same old thing.

Enter, Pinterest.

Ah, Pinterest perfect recipes always LOOK amazing but, in my experience, don’t ever really come out that great. (Turns out, you have to follow directions EXACTLY! Who knew?)

But I tried three new recipes from Pinterest recently, and you HAVE to try them!

  1. Roast Chicken
  2. Pot Roast
  3. Baked Mac and Cheese

Firstly, can you believe that I’ve never roasted my own chicken before? I know, it’s crazy. But, I figured since Kroger has them for like 5$ already cooked and seasoned, and WARM even, there was no real reason to torture myself about it.

But then I found this recipe and it just sounded sooooo gooood. I had to try it.

It. Was. Amazing!! I don’t think I’ll ever make chicken any other way. Even the left overs were good. I made the accompanying salad and even THAT was good. The KIDS ATE IT! Even the four year old. So, yeah. That’s a mega win in my book

For Thanksgiving with my parents, we wanted to have two kinds of meats so my mom roasted the turkey and I made a beef roast. I found a seasoning packet at the store and a boil bag, but then I found THIS recipe and I just had to try it!

It was so good, there wasn’t time to take a picture of it. Like, I opened the lid and we ATE it right then. But I can tell you, it came out tender and flavorful and AMAZING. Definitely rub the seasonings on before searing it. I think that’s what made the meat so yum.

Lastly, I made Baked Mac and Cheese for our Thanksgiving dinner with hubs’ family. My kids ADORE mac and cheese. And I thought, why shouldn’t they have a little something they like at dinner, too?

It was soooooo cheesy and delicious! Even the adults liked it and hubs went back for seconds. In fact, there weren’t any left overs and I made a BIG batch! I’d call that a win!

So, I guess I’m having some great luck with Pinterest lately! Did you try any new recipes for Thanksgiving??
