Casual Date Night #ootd

Last week, hubs and I WENT ON A DATE!

There was a fashion challenge on instagram to take a tank dress (that hasn’t been getting much love) and remix it in a few different ways. This dress was on the pile to get donated until I remembered that I have a pair of converse that match it SO PERFECTLY! I added a white jean jacket and wore this to go out with my Bae!

It’s so important to continue to date your spouse! We have a (mostly enforced) rule that we don’t buy anything for the kids, or discuss things about the kids as much as we can help it. (We sort of broke the rule this time, oops! You’ll see why!) Sometimes, it’s hard to come up with things to talk about! Ha! But after a while, we catch our groove and it’s like getting to know each other all over again.

I can truly say hubs is my best friend! Lately, we’ve been bonding over our shared love of reading manga. (I know, how dorky! ha!) So, after dinner we headed to Books-a-Million to look for the next book in the manga series he’s been reading.

And when we come to the bookstore, we hang out at the bookstore. The workers start wondering if we’re ever going to leave and we’ve closed out a bookstore a time or two! Ha! I found a new series to read entitled, My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong, As I Expected. We both saw the title as we walked in and laughed at how descriptive some of the titles are. It’s super cute and clever, so I bought the first two in the series.

So, yes, we broke our own rule and bought some books for the kids because they had just been put on a technology restriction for an entire month! They had not done their chores without much pain and suffering on my part since ever, and their father had finally had enough. Nevertheless, we felt a little bad so we bought them each a manga to read to kickstart all that free time they were about to have. Ha!

We had a great time, and it was a perfect way to kick off a new busy month!
